Storm dock

Storm Bert Leave its Mark

As with everybody else, we at Tooley’s Boatyard have been suffering with the water levels from “Storm Bert”.

On Sunday we came the closest since 2007 to flooding. The towpaths went under water, and the water came through the boatyard and made it to the front doors of the Chandlery.

A big thank you to Kate Saffin one of the Trustees of Tooley’s Boatyard Trust, Ian Marris of Sovereign Wharf and also local boater Zuzana, who deflected water and loosened all the boats in Banbury to stop them from being damaged.

In some of the photos there doesn’t appear to be a problem as we’re used to seeing the dock filled with water, however it was left empty at finish time before the weekend.
