Waterways Heritage Report

Waterways Heritage Report

Waterways Heritage Report was recently published by Inland Waterways Association (IWA).

The report which includes some excellent photographs is part of a campaign to preserve the heritage of our waterways including buildings, engineering structures, working mechanisms, artefacts, boats, people, skills and culture.

Part 2 of the report has a series of case studies – in particular.

  • Tooley’s Boatyard is acknowledged for “Heritage Skills and Training”.
  • Alarum Theatre‘s shows are described under “Waterways Culture”. Plays performed recently: We Dig Canals and Idle Women get a special mention. It acknowledges the work of Kate Saffin and Heather Wastie which “is thoroughly researched, including first-hand accounts alongside archive material”.
