In May 2019 The Whately Hall Hotel was the historic backdrop to a launch event that will secure the future of Tooleys Boatyard for generations to come. Here 250 years ago in January 1770 the contract was signed to build the Oxford Canal.
At today’s event Tooley’s Boatyard Trust has been set up to ensure the future of the Boatyard. This trust will manage the boatyard, balancing historic, heritage and attractions for the general public with the boatyard activities which will be in a separate commercial company.
